She is one of 18 accomplished endocrinologists nationwide to win the Endocrine Society Laureate Award
The Endocrine Society recently announced that Dr. Nanette Santoro of CU OB-GYN was honored with the prestigious Outstanding Mentor Award, one of the 18 Laureate Awards the Society bestowed on accomplished endocrinologists for 2016.
The Laureate Awards recognize the highest achievements in the endocrinology field, including groundbreaking research and innovations in clinical care. The Endocrine Society will present more than $100,000 in awards to the winners at ENDO 2016, the Society’s annual meeting in Boston from April 1-4, 2016.
Dr. Santoro, who is also Professor and E. Stewart Taylor Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado, won this annual award for demonstrating a career commitment to mentoring and providing positive impact on mentees’ education and careers.
As a lifelong researcher, Dr. Santoro has utilized her passion, clinical acumen and scientific expertise in reproductive endocrinology to develop and spearhead the careers of many young investigators. An expert on infertility and ovarian aging, Dr. Santoro’s passion for the subject encouraged many of her fellows and mentees to pursue careers in academic medicine and research.
She received the 2006 Mentor of the Year during her tenure at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Santoro also has been involved in mentoring through several of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development’s career development programs.
Congratulations, Dr. Santoro.
