Vogue Magazine recently reported on the rising popularity of the once-controversial contraceptive.
Dr. Stephanie Teal, director of OB-GYN’s Family Planning department, was recently quoted in a Vogue article discussing the rising popularity of the intrauterine device (IUD). IUDs are one of the most effective long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) available.
The story reported that in 2013, only 6.4 percent of women in the U.S. used an IUD. “There has been a real explosion in interest in IUDs over the past five years,” Teal, told Vogue Magazine.
