About Dr. Jenny Tam

Dr. Jenny Tam chose the OB-GYN specialty because of her passion for women’s health and desire to empower women to be involved in their healthcare decisions. This special bond allows her to create lasting and meaningful relationships with patients. She enjoys educating and working with patients to create personalized surgical and nonsurgical treatment plans, utilizing the least invasive but still effective approach for their goals.

If patients do require surgery, she offers advanced laparoscopic, robotic and hysteroscopic procedures so patients can have a faster recovery, less pain, quicker return to normal activities, less time in the hospital and smaller incisions. She says, “I love counseling patients on the possibility to remove large benign pelvic masses through small incisions during a same day surgery.”

Dr. Tam believes her greatest strength in interacting with patients is to listen and address their concerns and goals in a secure and compassionate manner. Because many gynecologic problems are multifactorial, she brings an interdisciplinary team to treat each issue, tailoring the treatment plan for each patient to give women the best outcome and improve their quality of life.

She is most proud of utilizing her expertise and surgical skills acquired from her minimally invasive gynecology fellowship to help patients. This allows her to provide care for and manage an often-neglected subset of women with chronic pelvic pain, employing an approach that addresses the biopsychosocial aspects of the condition. “I want to advance their access to care, make them feel heard and teach them that their problems deserve treatment,” says Dr. Tam.

She enjoys all aspects of the OB-GYN field, but her primary interest is in gynecologic surgery. She supports patients across the gender spectrum on a transformative journey to address issues such as endometriosis, symptomatic fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding and infertility.
